This is a sultry beast, laden with fancy and finessed with lusty imagery... don't know why but it puts me to mind on the lizard king... fires being lighted and all that... nicely done, Patrick.

Almost had me reaching up and tiling my red fedora as the poem made me think of the hard-boiled writers of the forties' detective genre. And that, buddy, ain't bad.
