We are packing up boxes

moving away

gathering the things we keep

or come what may,

trying not stay

and recall too many things

looking a photographs

 that stop us packing,

hiding the sadness

after so many years

do we really want to move

from this house.

Its where weve had our laughs

shed tears as well

bought up our kids

so many things to tell,

parties to celebrate

with people like us

all getting older

trying not to fuss,

but the need to move on

has finally arrived

the papers are signed

the vans on the drive.

Goodbye old friend

your more than a home

your where part of me lives

love to take you along,

grabbing the tissue

as we close the door

last time farewell

see you no more.
