The Pelican flew high and free

Over the Ocean blue

The Pelican said “Any fish?”

The Ocean said “A few”

The Pelican dove straight and true

Deep into the Ocean blue

Back again as if on cue

With a fish of a reddish hue

Said the Ocean “Have your fill”

Said the Pelican “Thanks, I will”

Diving into waters still

Holding fish tight in his bill

“Still hungry?” said the Ocean

My waters are quite stuffed

“Me too” said the Pelican

With feathers dried and fluffed

“See you at the break of day”

Said Pelican as he flew away

“He never has too much to say”

Said Ocean and went on his way
