*A Simple Man* He was my Daddy A simple man Spoke his mind, never ran. Articulating his words Between his labored breath Two words filled my head. I didn’t want to hear Even though I cared I didn’t want to be there. Two simple words They could not be undone. I wanted to run. Daddy, I was afraid Even though I prayed One day it will be okay.
