Today, I am writing this Ave to you, the very hour when your body is being laid to rest, eight days after your demise and the day after your funeral  was held at the New Hope Baptist Church, where as a youth you sang before your winged voice graced the stage, you achieved stardom and inspired hundred of millions throughout the world who listened to you sing "Jesus Loves Me," "I will Alway Love You" and many other song that were heavenly to the heart.

Although you were only forty-eight years old when your mortal breath expired, you bequeathed to humankind music that will live in timelessness. Physically, you have departed your mortal existence but your phenomenal and spirit-savoring songs will remain. The Bible, which you treasured, says there will be singing in Heaven. With eyes of faith, even now, I see and hear you, accompanied by Angels singing in Heaven. Your songs are the epitome of beauty and a delight forever.

Thank you Whitney Houston for your songs of love and compassion. I was a child when I first heard  someone sing at a Baptist Church, located in the hamlet called Sunflower where I  was born, "Jesus Loves Me." Three score years later I heard you sing this song and "I will Always Love You." Your rendering of these songs has been  transformative, bringing healing and compassion to my soul.

Whitney Houston "I Will Always Love You Too." After I exchange mortality for immortality I will again see you soul-to-soul and listen to you sing. I know you will have some new songs, perhaps angelic songs, but this is my request: please keep in your repertoire "Jesus Loves Me" and "I Will Always Love You."
