to enjoy life.
EMBRACE YOUR CHILD WITHIN YOU
Your child within you, born the day you were born,
was acknowledged by everyone, including yourself,
durng the early years of your life is never to be
disowned or abandoned by you for as long as you live.
You will never be the full person you were created to
be until you embrace your child within you
.
The child within you is the part of the seat of your soul
that is the enjoyed, creative, playful, carefree, forgives
easily, curious, spontaneous, full of fun and high spirits.
The Apostle Paul, author of more than half of the Books
of the New Testament, said: When I was a child, I talked like a child.
I thought like a chlld, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man I put the ways of
childhood behind me.
Paul did not say he put away the child. His risk taking,
dependence on his God and giving all to love which he
declared to be "the greatest" - greater than hope and
faith - demonstrated that he embraced his child within.
You will never be more creative, spontaneous and alive than when you own, enfold, let be your child. Care
for your child. Let your child create, play, forgive quickly,
trust much and love freely. Bless your child within you
and your child within you will bless you. Be a loving
parent for your child and above all else be a friend of
your child. It is in friendship that the parent and child are
equals.
For a starter, say to your child, "Come and play with
me. I want to be your playmate."
That's why I like poetry. I can play like a child. And why I like interacting with children. We seem to be on the same wavelength.
