The Truth (for George M. Calger) The truth won’t set you free It’s a calliope It plays a hundred tunes You choose your dance and dance it Get out of step and you will see A die with symbols rolling Faces skewed by different angles Or a square kept there by an immobility of the head The truth won’t set you free It’s a catastrophe A centipede inching towards its inevitable destination The legs don’t add up to a hundred But it bites just like they said. The truth will set you free To wander in the desert Where the wind blows like a calliope And the centipede wends its way towards Your rock paper bed

Yes, I find this form rather strange. Kind of like a Salvador Dali painting with everything out of place and droopy.

Perhaps it is because the truth is too hard for most people to take. So they'd rather live the lie instead.
