Thanksgiving is near and it's time again,
to buy the turkey and stuff his aft end.

The year is gone and I'm madder than hell,
don't know who's coming, it's too soon to tell.

The little woman has told me, also gave me her warning,
no sassy remarks or unusual yawning.

Sometimes the guests, although they are kin,
can rub you wrong and get under your skin.

Uncle Paul is ok, besides his bad hair,
Aunt Edna's laugh could frighten a bear.

My brother's boys are really a treat,
they scream too loudly and step on your feet.

Can't wait til they leave, I must close my eyes,
I'll probably dream of turkey and pies.

I like to talk to hear myself speak,
by the size of that bird we'll have turkey all week.

One phrase I can say, without sounding so sad,
despite my complaining, this won't be that bad.

Give thanks for the blessings that you have today,
think of each other in your own special way.
