I Wonder

Perhaps in casual stroll a feeling
of uneasiness has tainted your soul.
You walk a quickened pace and an
ungodly chill passes through the fiber
of your being.

Shivering and glancing around, their is
nothing or no one within shouting distance.
Was it imagination or has darkness, for
a split second, tampered with your emotions?

When suddenly, alone with your thoughts,
lost in wondrous abandon, a quick flash of
something or someone catches the corner
of your eye. Disturbed and curious you seek
to locate the intruder, but to no avail.

Are there such things? Do Apparitions exist...
or is it just the fear that we've had in us
since childhood?

I like to think that it is a loved one reaching
out from another dimension, not to
frighten us but to warn us. Who knows,
some things remain unexplained. For every
fear there is a reason, and for every reason
a fear. I Wonder.

Lovely poem Paul and so true too. Sometimes, we think we see things from the corner of our eyes. Is there something there? Was it our imagination? Who knows. Maybe someday, we'll see and then know for sure. Great words and another fab poem! take care Paul, love Theresa.

My goodness, Paul... you take me there with this breathtaking write... I experience such things all the time, and usually feel it is paranoia and psychosis on my part. I would love to feel, in retrospect, that it is a benevolent presence rather than a wayward one. But, having read this, the next time I sense this I shall reach out and grab the positive response, rather than my knee-jerk spine-tingle chilling one! I like your thoughtful conclusion, too. Bless you, Kate xx

I think it can be a loved one but also sometimes one from the dark side. A person can tell which one by the feels of the spirit. Loved ones make us comfortable even if we are uneasy about seeing them in spirit form. There will be a sense of danger if it anything else. Great write.
