Wow this is a very impressive poem Paul! Great job throughout this piece!
Holy Guacamole, Paul, though I haven't read the other chapters, this stands on its own illustrious worth! It is complete and stunning!! Would that summer's prison wardens (my girls!) were back in school and I had my time back... I feel I miss alot by being on here sporadically. Well, the youngest is 8, still several years before semi-freedom, I'll take what I can get!! This piece wound around my mind and entered the cracks in my soul with its oblique darkness, I love it!! :)
I feel the chill of the damp hollowed halls...I hear the endless echoes. Very well penned as always!

Sandi, until today I had no idea that Haggard Hall even existed. In my poems it is purely fictional and any similarity in the name to the actual is meant as no disrespect to the person or family to which Haggard Hall was named for. Haggard Hall is the name given to the library science lecture halls at Western Washington University, College of Education. It is named for William H. Haggard who was President if the University between 1939 and 1959. My Haggards' Halls only exist in my mind and hopefully now in yours.
Great rhythm rhyme and plot very good.

Indeed Haggards' Halls ( excellent title) conveys to me the collective's experience of incarnations upon this planet..indeed..imaciated,gaunt careworn is our state if we don't turn to the Light within ...Thankyou..great write!

Great pieces of writing, I enjoyed all 5 chapters. All along I was thinking of Alcatraz!...lol
Hhhhhmmmmm.....Perhaps a little definition to introduce "Haggard Hall" may make these series works better.
I actually had browsed the net to search for Haggards Hall before I've even gave you my first comment...but what came up from the net was very confusing. It did not tell me enough to understand the relations between your series and what's on their site.
But regardless, I enjoyed your series very much. I'm not sure if you're talking about the same "Haggard Hall", it didn't seem like it so, but your writing kept more and more interesting to read with each series.
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
