Crow Nightmare

Coming around the path,
the large aviary cage loomed.
As ohs and ahs and “where is it?” rang out,
she noticed the crow. In the Bald Eagle exhibit.
Suddenly, the eagle launched itself.
The crow fled. Straight towards the group.
It slammed into the heavy wire,
and thrust its head through the mesh.
Its sun-glossed eye
transfixed her with its desperation,
pierced her soul with its futility.
Our world
is a cage
in a zoo.
She dreamed
she was that crow
last night.

Great line, "...our world is a cage..." Surrealism at its' finest!
This poem is like a plume of the Great Eagle prodding the wings of good sense to fly to the Mountain of Justice, and SHOUT: ((((((((((((((LEGISLATORS, EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF GOVERNMENT, PEOPLE, RESPECT AND OBEY THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, or You are going to send Your kids to the SLAVEYARD in two more Presidential Mandates))))))))))))
I Salute You, Sublime Poet!

"Its sun-glossed eye
transfixed her with its desperation,
pierced her soul with its futility.
Our world
is a cage
in a zoo."
A million thoughts come to mind. Are we not the builders of both cages?
is a cage
in a zoo.
How saddly true, Erin, in far too many ways.
