Denial’s Famous Wile

Angel wings of softness pinked belie strange
conjunction, organics blossom despite
lengthening confusion; there’s no exchange
of secrets, only ridicule of blight.
But, that can’t be right… For Nature’s rapture
knows no bounds, experimenting creates
twisting renown; where wingless gnats endure
repetitive promises of cruel fates --
image-attached preface of illusions.
Incongruity becomes a life-style,
disclaim of differences, sad aplomb,
mirrors; all show Denial’s famous wile…
Why the façade, humanity? Never
to be perfect, we can still endeavor.

Erin you blew me away with this piece!
Incredible.
I liked you poem as it gets right to the heart of things-the importance of self honesty and people always leaning to short term gratification.
