Morning Air

The morning air feels relaxed
and luscious with the smell and coolness
of the last night’s rain.
Soft, languid breezes stroke her body,
prickling her skin with goose bumps
and quiet caresses.
A cat arches against her back
and settles its warmth against her side,
creating companionship.
She reaches for overhead dreams
as she stretches, luxuriating --
in love with being alive.
