Shaking of Heads

Do you remember,
when you were young in mind,
and years,
how people would shake their heads
at what you said?
I got that a lot, as a dreamer,
and learned
to keep my thoughts to myself.
Where they festered and grew
into a person who couldn’t be happy
with what surrounded her;
not continually, to the core.
I doubt I ever will.
Do you think
certain values contain fallacies?
Provisional excuses?
Unsound arguments?
There are basic dogmas,
like the Ten Commandments.
Common sense dogmas,
like the Golden Rule.
And there are personal dogmas,
like being kind to animals,
or respecting whom we love.
But, we are creatures of emotions.
Emotion can overpower minds.
As easily as snapping your fingers.
As easily as shaking your head.
It seems to me having emotions
is much more complex
than chemical reactions in a body.
I think it shows we really are essence,
harbored in flesh, for now.
I think God is a totality on this level
of existence, and our essences are only
one tiny cell of God. And I think
we move as God moves through Time,
placed and replaced, constantly.
I wonder where I’ll be placed next…
Now, stop shaking your head!
