Serenity

The soft plit-plat of the gentle rain
gilds dusk’s cloudy skies
with the glow of contented day.
Low murmurs from neighbors,
dog’s raspy snoring, cricket chirruping,
all combine to create an aura.
Curving upwards to the great beyond,
the sense of peace, tomorrow, will collapse.
But, for now, serenity pervades.
