Rain-cloud came down from heaven high
To lie on desert mountain’s breast.
Cloudy lover nestled snugly by
To suckle, at Mother Earth’s request.

Blue pale skies peeked and flashed sun smiles,
Cacti grinned wide and hid their eyes.
Water musically patterned sighs
As cloud lover practiced soothing wiles.

Rainy cloud fondled mountain’s dales,
Wooing Mother with thunderous might.
Cloud lover pierced with shafts of hail,
Then seeded desert with lightning strike.

Blue skies giggled and ran to hide,
Cacti gasped, and saluted with spines.
River declared Mother a bride
As cloud dissolved to return to kind.
