Emptying Self

I watched the Monsoon storm
gain ground in the sky.
Felt energy pulsing,
humidity seeping,
electricity igniting.
And I couldn’t contain
the power in my body.
So, I turned my palms up,
facing the sky, and I flung
the energy out, almost shouted
with the release. Transfixed,
I emptied myself, and I swooned.
When I reopened my eyes,
I saw the storm dissipating,
its turbulence transferred
to clouds building on the horizon.
Dull, blue skies above
made me weep. I need
passion, chaos and
the build-up of storms
to make me feel complete.

This poem prods the stallion of imagination to gallop
on the prairies of knowledge.
I have enjoyed a poetic magnificence.
