Give Us An Answer, Won’t You?

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Thursday, September 2, 2004

“If only I could find a way
to feel your sweetness through the day.
The love that shines around me could be mine.
So give us an answer, won’t you,
we know what we have to do,
there must be a thousand voices trying to get through.” ~ Supertramp

Spirituality, arise! The Times
have progressed past repair! Never more seen
the innocence of trust, again; truth cries
when a world is murdered. Mechanics mean

nothing to a body that dies; once quit,
mind goes free. Open your senses, your soul
has no need of material bullshit,
it craves completeness; aches to reach its goal,

Nirvana... Inequality, your name
is Devil! Evil! Choice… Strangulation
of self impedes growth, promotes glad disdain
for others hopes; cast off your skin defamed!

Open your mind - there must be a thousand
voices trying to get through – reach a hand.

Erin, your natural poetic ability is second to none. Your gift to reach deep into the well of thought; shatters the barriers and springs forth these magnificent inspirational poetic treasures. Thank you for sharing them. Take care, Poet.

If I open my mind, there are literally a "thousand voices" trying to get OUT, and you don't want THOSE voices in this world, they speak of things too horrible to relate...Enjoyed this dear friend Erin, Ed & Rufuz

This is quite profound, Erin. And exactly what I needed to read today.
