I told my mind,
“to think of heedful ways
to stop the war
you have in here.”
then had to turn away.

“The time has come,”
my mind told me,
“to think of futured being,
to stop the war
you have inside,
if you would grow your wings.”

“The time’s not right,”
we told our minds,
“to think of balanced peace,
to stop the war
we harbor here;
this war will never cease.”
