Scaffolding Spaceships

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Tuesday, November 16, 2004

The form of an ark,
the arc of a rainbow,
the rainbow of a mind,
the minds of the many…

All are spaceships,
under construction.

It seems Mankind
has space traveling in its dreams.

The taste of a star,
the star of a cosmos,
the cosmos of an eye,
the eyes of the many…

All are concepts,
under construction.

It seems Mankind
views galaxies in its dreams.

The touch of a mind,
the mind of an idea,
the idea of a home,
the home of the many…

All are reality,
under construction.

It seems Mankind
feels responsibility in its dreams.

"To go where no man has gone before ..." The human mind and the cosmos are the current frontiers -- reality under construction. Nice vision, Erin.
Best regards,

yes, mankind's purpose is to dream responsibly and live up to the blueprints of his design ...

All concepts are still under construction Erin...grin
And this is one metaphysical and enlightening composition...
You pose the age old question....where is mankind heading..towards or away from from God..

You have constructed an excellent poem here, Erin. I like the spinning feeling I got as each line progressed and spun into the next. This was a lot like explaining the inertia of dreaming. Very nice writing, Erin.
Take care,
Sherry

I thought reality did not exist, and now I find out it is being constructed...what are they building it from, paper mache? Ed

I would take this to the post-graduate center of The Gregorian University in Rome...

"Scaffolding Spaceships" strikes my psychobilogical recorder.

I like the profoundity and the flowing of this composition. It did inspire me.

Thank You, Poet for adding value to Poetry!

Erin, this is superb. Some mighty indepth thoughts hidden in these tiny little lines. LOL.

A most fascinating and well composed poem, Erin. I like your use of repetition here. Your verses are provocative with complex concepts, rich thinking material, yet your language is deceptively simple.

Don't know that I completely agree with everything here, but you have crafted a thoughtful poem. -- Jeff
