Requests of heart that beats alone survives
Another weary day; reality
Whispers loneliness is here to stay. Dive,
Then, to fantasy, and live your love free…

In true rainbow sight of mind’s desire,
In depthless lust of carnal power, drink,
Star-soul, from earth’s fountain, flowing dew-fires.
Towel your lips divine on flower pink

And travel, synchronized, back into Time
Releasing scented bliss with sighs. Describe,
In words, how spatial verbs refind rhymes
Designs - where once desires were proscribed.

Request to heart that creates ecstasies;
Undam the truth implanted in this sea.

"Desire" would make Socrates rethink his definition of libidinal love, and teach Plato how to correct his mistakes on women's mission... - the seventh, eighth and the twelfth lines - are platinum precious; and the closing lines seal the Scroll to be read from the main lectern of the Basilica of the Poets.

Suddenly, this IS poetry! I read it, I write it, but then... there's THIS!! A head-and-shoulders-above-all-else-today, I think, Erin - this is pure class!! Has masterful control, rhythm and a fine lyricism. Beautiful language and concepts and a classical feel. I especially love the lines: Describe, In words, how spatial verbs refind rhymes": such contrasting tensions in these thoughts. But every line is quite magnificent. Classic Erin, indeed! Silly me, as I read, each line was to quote to you, saying YES, this is the best, this is the one that ripped me... BUT... each line did that and I see no need to quote back the entire, marvelous piece.

I'm so impressed with how lyrical you are and how you so astutely guide a reader to your insides with your punctuation and spacing... ok, ok... I WILL choose a favorite line: that last one! That's the stuff any self-respecting poet would wish he or she could call his/her own.

You, dear heart, capture mood and it's written all over the page. You do it sooooooo well. This will linger. katy xox.
