Solar Plexus

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Sunday, January 23, 2005

I’ve been tested, religioned, admonished;
Placed, converted, catalogued, statisticked;
Diminished, distributed… Astonished,
I realize I’ve been tricked! Corner-kicked!

A mind is a mind, tool to soul, real “I’s”
Reside inside solar plexus, undone.
Bio-synchronicity requires “eyes”.
Networks are nourished by intersections,

Communications; structuring upon
Phrenic, cervical, dorsal, lateral;
Lumbar, sacral, celiac; ganglion
Nerves, sympathetic, superior; all

Solar-ruled by abdominal brain, linked
To the soul, and the essence of being.

This is a scientific-poetic flower. Neurologists, Psychologists
and Neuro-Anatomists will have to think deeper after reading this.
It will probably bring Aristotle's studies on the subject back to
scientific discussions, as it flows like a follow up of his affirmations concerning the contents of this poem.

This is the century of Poetry's revelation, and this poem is a live evidence of its functions.

:) I'm glad you've all liked my 'housecleaning' these last few days. I'm at the end of my red Mead composition book. When that happens, I flip through it several times, see titles, phrases, starts of poems and definitions/synonyms I've jotted down or 'seen' at one time as a poem.

Many times, life stops my hand and my mind, and I lose the original concepted piece. 'Solar Plexus' was a title penned early on in the book, but I needed time to gather fragments and peripheral thoughts. It was penned in my new 'purple' composition book. I choose the color each time according to my perceptions of rightness.

Or, in other words, intuition from the solar plexus.

Happy, creative and wonder-filled writing to you all! Spring has sprung in Arizona, it will be heading your way as soon as the robins stop here on their way North. Watch for them between the cold and snowflakes. :)

Thank you for reading and enjoying my poetry.

Powerfully expressed with a claxon of words wailing our plight. Abdominal pain or pleasure? Pass the chips and dip?

"The Essence of Being" is many things. Yes, it is solar-ruled by the abdominal brain of our stars.

This is quite a write. ERin, this one rocks!
