Time’s Edgy Abstraction

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Thursday, February 3, 2005

Time is one eternal Element
I am really getting peeved with, it’s
ubiquitous nature of formless advance
shows life’s creations who controls all.

Maybe...

It is the androgynous mother of Chaos,
first-birthed from blank nothingness
by the whim of consciousness, compounding
edgy abstractions into formed concepts.

Or…

It is actually nothing, and everything,
piggybacking Man’s arranged brain
to imprison such gods as made the trip
through deepest waste, crashing
upon a terraformed island of molten solidity.

Or…

It is the fact that we have no control
over any linear movement we try to arrange
to break the defining reactions
of breathing aching realizations
that it will cease…

You are right, Erin, we have no control over msot of the things and yet we some times do try, smart, we think we are, aren't we?

Compelling write here and you do have a valid point in that we have no control.

You are giving me a headache as I attempt to stay up with you and your wonderings these days. A good sort of a headache, at least I am working the old grey cells a little more than normal and that is good. And I have you to thank for it all. So . . . thanks. I remember when I spent many hours of the day attempting to figure out the why and where and when of my/our existence. This is bringing those exciting days back to me.
