Spatial Displacement

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Wednesday, April 6, 2005

She views a hand
In front of her,
And, realizes it’s her own.
Funny, it doesn’t look like her hand.

She feels a body
Moving her presence,
Knowing it is her own.
Strange, it doesn’t feel like her body.

She sees through eyes
Seeking eternity,
Failing to free her mind.
Odd, the edge between surrealism
And reality.

Dear Erin- Liked your poem. A question?....Do we gain from the struggles ("failing to free her mind") only a milimeter away reality from surrealism-a change in direction of a dust in the wind. Something says you can conquer it-like aeasy looking game at an arcade. Coomon sense says it is your knowing telling you so, and coomn sense also says most important is your inner peace and inner peace is knowing what or what not you can change-
A good inner peace can change you-wherther or no tyou bath ib surrealism or reality.

Marvin.

PS some of you poems are to me more profound than others ,but you cannot do without either-is to trust you self-a lack of which is a key element in the failures of mankind-his nature tampering- a motion to doubt from contradicting fact given.
ThE same piece of dust skirts my brow evry other second-someone says this is my problem so maybe I should try to catch it. Maybe if god meant for you to see it he'd also mean for you to catch it.

Fast moving things can learn to distrust or trust slow moving things-youd be surprised who has the faster hand. If in doubt slow down.

Erin,

Great title! I was just reading on the Empress and the High Priestess...two halves of the whole!

I can relate to this well!

Surreal. Whot's dat mean, sure real? Naw, got to be fancier'n dat. How bout incongruous juxtapositions. Just having fun, here, loved this very senuous poem because I'm afraid to delved too far into the poems innards, I might meet myself coming back, know-whot-I-mean?

Erin,

A razor sharp line between surrealism (insanity?) and reality. An excellent, spot on write--well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)
