Butterfly Bidden

I spied a butterfly
flutter-love the breeze,
viewed its progress, marveling.
I thought of flight-so-light
and the way it frees
a caterpillar from its debris.
I watched a butterfly
flutter-avoid sun formed trees,
dipping and flitting magically.
I thought of wings-so-bright
and the way it seems
a caterpillar now knows harmony.
I viewed a butterfly
flutter-hug flower entities,
approving, with bold humility.
I thought of colors-of-height
and the way they key
a caterpillar’s mystery.
I watched a butterfly
flutter-sprite with glee
the lift of windy history.
I thought of right-to-kite
and the way life greets
a caterpillar to heaven’s seas.
I spied a butterfly
flutter-hide from me,
and went to look to see.
I thought of soul-filled-might
and the way eternity
lies in a caterpillar’s creed.
