Do you hear the hard thump
of a nuclear dump
implanting your land,
my country?
Do you see mushroom clouds
and unnatural colors of death?
Is there no escape?
Do you feel the weight
of figments of hate
growing on your land,
my country?
Do you taste prejudice
and unnatural flavors of death?
Is there no escape?
Do you see the fate
of political debate
gang-raping your land,
my country?
Do you feel your souls toll
and the unnatural sounds of death?
Is there no escape?
Do you hear the past laugh
with madmen who’ve gassed
the length of your land,
my country?
Do you see poisonous plants
and unnatural blooms of death?
Is there no escape?

You write from the shared consciousness of us all. This madness will rend us all to dust.

Scary, chilling write--very effectively written warning to change before it is too late. BRAVA!

of political debate
gang-raping your land,
my country?"
"gang-raping..." You, my darlin', are not entirely OF this world, but you, sometimes, like now, ARE this world.
Your often enigmatic brilliance is tucked behind an unmistakable cry and my ears are entirely open to you.
"no escape?" A recurring line that needs to be said again and again... astute, as always, and ever the mouth, the voice of the also recurring underbelly of our land.
I am sufficiently, mentally, physically blown away. love, katy xox
