Conceptual Reality

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Sunday, July 17, 2005

I am a Science Fiction addict,
I am a Sci-Fi addict-true ,
I come alive in Its possibilities,
of thrills and spills and wills
of Its atmospheres … into the fears of All.
Showing us all is well. … All is well?

Well, yes. Sci-Fi is alive, it diverges,
it creates and abates and aggravates our senses.
It promises much and It gives Its All. It
teaches and reaches into our souls,
courage and worship and monstered halls
of calamity’s remembered nuances of
Nothing. It’s so bizarre, so bizarre… Love
that word, it is All, and then some.

I watch Sci-Fi, and my mind goes free,
I try to recalculate eternity, but,
it’s not that simple, as a thought,
as a string, as energy…

Giant spiders roam my dreams,
actualized in eternity, but, whose?
Mine? Did I decide War was the norm
for sentient creatures planet-borne?
Can I parallel myself? I want to…

Become that other ... we all do,
we weep for this,
ache for that/this/you-must-be
‘other’ reality.
And, as I ache for all-everything,
and more, I want
my Daddy back… He died,
not from an outer war, but from
alcoholism, one of Humanity's
inner wars.

There are mysterious ways and days
of dark, defeated by light
caroling the fright we hold inside,
until, the crescendo builds,

and, collapses, relapses, reclaims
congratulations of Itself on
stimulation of activation
of the recreation and purification of
absolution of a portion of
Humanity’s Me’s…

Period.

Dot.

End.

So, to recept the conception of
value of my reality, I must…

concept?

Oh, yeah, that’s cool, that’s right up
my small-town alley of nighttime frights
when walking home from a friends.

I am incensed with the stupidity
which links our eternal morbidity…

to Us.

These thoughts of self-impunity, are
subject to change, as change occurs.

Without any periods, dots or ends.

Period.

Dot.

End?

Tumbling words cascading into thought and imagery create vague and subliminal impressions within us, the readers, as we are brought into your perceptive universe, seeing the world through your eyes, if only momentarily. Being also a sci-fi lover I particularly resonated to the connection you drew between the mystery and unadulterated creative joy that sci-fi and spec.fic. give rise to with the mystery of life itself, and how we yearn for something beyond the horizon of our daily grind. a wisdom drop, sista erin.

Erin,

I'm a fan of science fiction and fantasy as well. I used to watch all the Star Trek and Star Wars movies, I can watch them again and again and never got tired of them.

I think that it stimulates our imaginations and creativities.

Good write.

Erin,

An exceptional write--I'm not much of a science fiction fan, but now the Science channel...mmmmmmm, mmmmmmmmmmm! Have to pull me away...LOL (although much of it is fiction...I think LOL)

Well done--like the way you write! Realistically and honestly. BRAVA!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

EEKM,

"I am incensed with the stupidity
which links our eternal morbidity…"

That is a MAJOR "I feel ya'"

Wondrous wordplay, btw and I dig the concept(ual).

Can I get a "godbomb"?

Peace,

B

The sci-fi channel could be the only one I watch, I revel in it and look forward daily to its fantasy versus fact...you and I may write differently, but we have this much in common and I enjoyed reading of your Conceptual Reality regards Science Fiction & Fantasy...Ed

There is a difference between Science-Fiction and Fantasy.
One is a revelation through a logical concept; the other is
a dream under hypnotic trance, whether individual or influenced
by collective stimulation. Example: General TRANSPLANTS, CLONING/Clonation, BODY RECONSTRUCTION, (Natural and artificial.) ARTIFICIAL BLOOD, and SPACE TRAVELING. All from "SCI-FI", but a scientific REALITY now.

"Conceptual Reality" stimulates the mind and nourishes the inner
brain to connect with the mind of the >>>I < < <. It leads the scan
of the inner soul to find the path to reality in the map of
existence.

"Conceptual Reality" has paid its dues to Poetry, and its message
is duly delivered.

I thank the author of "Conceptual Reality" for sharing this
philosophical-poetic flower scented with the aroma of wisdom
and knowledge.

isn't it strange how reality encompasses the parameters of

Sci-Fi and how Sci-fi is engrossed in reality? ...

Ah yes, Sci-Fi does offer so many possibilites, this is wonderful Erin,

I'm not sure of the reality you write of. I am sure that most sci fi is 100% fantasy (Star Wars) and little, if no science. The human mind has an endless supply of fantasy (dreams) from which to conjure up altered states. When they become coherent enough to be understood by many for their familarity (not weirdness) like Alice, Oz, Dune, Rings, and Potter, they become great. Likewise, science fiction like Destination Moon, become boring in their reality.
