Constituents of Love and Hate or: Esoteric Knowledge

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Tuesday, January 10, 2006

I don’t see Love,
And its constituents, everyday
In my Life, not in the way
It would feel right…

I think Love is a catalyst
To emotions, just like hate.
I don’t ‘hate’, I don’t. I don’t feel
Any of the above above my head.
My heart feels untouched, virgin, and fake.

I don’t see Hate,
And its constituents, every way,
In my Life, but, I do, any day,
When my feelings contrive.

I think Hate is an anti-catalyst
To promotion, just like Love.
I don’t love, I don’t. I don’t feel
Any of the below below my head.
My heart, however, says otherwise.

If you can’t love, you can’t hate.
If you can’t hate, you can’t love.

I see how Love and Hate
Go further than my tiny thoughts,
Even as, I know emotions are killing
My heart-feelings, and, I ‘hate’ that…

Dear Erin: I can relate to your poem--big things are little, little things big until they become heavy to put to work overtime your mental machinery-illicit feeling emotions -a spiraling cycle-life stays still but for the mental machinery put to work which somehow, though thoughtfull and accurate and accrueing wisdoms,is inapplicable to produce change as if your problems beyond reach-we only have so much living time for something very transient and surmountable to occupy it in any endureing manner. Must be some big potatoe in a line for bright guys(i.e. whose bright idea was that) instead of good guys or visa versa. Is a depressing situation that can grow to such propotions to require a needle threader and magnifier glass larger than a state(after the space telescope failed some one on Jonny Carson claimed it could still find the license tag of a speeding car on the jersey Turnpike.)
. a depressing situation with a potential to cause a greater harm if one does not know where to stop when he picks his/her life apart in search of the elements of his unhappyness. Sometimes problems with no definition that can blow in and out with the wind.
People should be kinder to themselves-they can only gain from doing so, instead of putting the square peg into the round hole, left with neither a round or square and the same unconquered problems that initiated their personal searches.
... they should focus their energies more constructively on things that are indulgeing to self serving...what ever their appetities -what ever they have refused themselves(gouret foods, expensive pasties to orgies).
