I Thought…

I thought
When I was young, I would
Have a lotta fun,
And, I did, in a Colorado manner
Of the way it was
In the late ‘70’s, when
Nothing mattered, and, it did.
All too well, okay, swell.
I thought
When I had kids, I would
Learn to live my licks,
In an appropriate manner
Of the thoughts that
Everything matters, and, it did.
Only too well, yeah, swell.
I thought,
when I was aging, I would
Have a modicum of fun,
And, I may, I don’t know, anymore,
If my manner of suffrage
Even matters, but, once, it did.

You and I on the same page with our latest poems...aging...you've penned a witty, yet thought provoking, write. Well done.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
The unexamined life is tragically forgotten. Such a fine instrument for dissection you wield. Such a fine tongue for the telling...
Peace,
