Baby bunnies
In your cage,
Licking ears and smoothing fur,
Do you hear that dove a wing?
She’s looking for her mate,
Who died here, one spring,
Cat-torn.

Funny bunnies
Yawning wide,
Shifting spots and settling down,
Mom is penned along your side,
She’s living with her mate,
Who came here, one spring,
Love-borne.

Little bunnies,
Soft and grey,
Soon you’ll have to learn your way.
Do you hear the dove coo long?
She’s looking for her mate,
Who left here, one spring,
Wing-shorn.
