Mutants in ruffles
And taffeta screams
Belie the calm
Of my gardens of spring.
Taffeta wrinkles
Espy the age
As ruffles of mutants
Frieze gardens this spring.
Occupied mutants
Desire my face,
As taffeta screams,
Belying the calm
Of my gardens,
This spring.

Companion piece:
Do You See?
Do you see
Red platypus-birds
Trying to pull free?
Do you see
A moth-elephant,
Over extending its trunk?
Do you see
Two puberty-powered flower
Novas, ready
To expand
Their ‘parameters’,
As, two younger others watch?
I do.
