Orchids have flown,
This crown of flowers
Has grown ugly and old.

Lilies are black,
Violets have thorns,
Soul’s crown of flowers
Has grown heavy and cold.

The flip side of a dazzling mirror. The irony here for me is that even in the expression of bleakness, there is a recognition of beauty in the mourning of beauty's loss. A splendid write.
