In wondering lost beneath blued skies, sun
Rose high and scorched brown eyes, increasing load
Of familial tides, kite-tailed by son’s
Angelic sighs, denuded of earth, bowed.

In gathering wide the heights of trees, son
Grew bold and spent a ray, plunged into heart
Of disarray, continuing past sun’s
Rehaloed flight, deluding earth - apart.

In pondering clouds above lost eyes, sun
Fell short and missed its chance, decreasing soul
Of familiar lies, blight-tailed by son’s
Unwinged goodbyes, precluding earth, deed-polled.

In wandering long beneath blue skies, son
flew high above the earth - now, spirit’s gone.
