Have you ever had a Poem
Reluctant to be formed?
You get an idea, or a title, or,
Maybe just a phrase
In your mind.

You start mulling blueprints, teething on
Words and their frames of meaning.
You decide which way to plumb the content,
Draft staircases of rhythm, corner
Angles of relationships, roof expanding emotions,
Paint exteriors with rainbow colors�

And, then, you lose it.

Maybe, some poems
just weren�t meant to be�

Many times, Erin, I've had poems come THISQUICK; other times, it's like pulling teeth...I just put the stubborn ones away for a time, and when it's time, they will be born. Excellent poem, Erin, enjoyed, and identify strongly with.

This is such a perfect image of a poem refusing to come to fruition, and the term itself "Reluctant to be Formed" says it all, I get these and end up deleting them as I see them going nowhere...great poem this is, did it start reluctantly...;) Ed
