Old Flame, your flicker wanes in solitudes
Human breast, in mindless unrest, in winds
Of folly’s shame. Old Flame, planet-birthed, due
To expire in latter years, rescind
Your shadowed countenance, relight dawn’s skies,
Reheat shaky world hope, create a shape
All can understand with conscious eyes.
Old Flame of eternal depth, help us stake
Our candles to survive life’s gales with grace
And fortitude, to beget love without doubt,
To show our fellow flames godhead explains
Nothing about a planet rerouted.
Old Flame, as we feebly wax in your light,
Help us stand against humanity’s plight.
