My Obelisk

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Sunday, January 28, 2007

How proud you stand, My obelisk, how proud
And solid, briefly glimpsed, my Obelisk...

How wound-rous Man, my obelisk, how proud
To belong, briefly whimpsed, my obelisk.

How proud you are, my coveted Man,
Solidly glimpsed through religious stands.

Oh, my Obelus!

How wondrous Man can remake Man,
Take a bow, even evered briefly, My Obelisk…

I don't really know what an obelisk is, but I fall into the hypnotic labyrinth of your words........excellent!

Excellent use of puns. Man worshiping man often seems to transcend the worship of God himself. I especially like your play on words, "How wound-rous Man, my obelisk, how proud ". Great Poem
