Salacious Cupid pricked his own skin
And fell in love with Psyche, human. She,
Courted by a god’s blind night, let light in,
Destroyed herself, losing wed-guarantees

To Curiosity. Bereaved in heart
And mind of self, Psyche traveled, country
By country, searching for Love, lost, apart,
Seeking to breach her ridiculous Me,

Despondent and shrinking. Conversed by Fates
And arduous tasks, she fell, at last, to
Exhaustion’s sleep, with cruel ending’s weight,
Collapsed. Repentant, Eros, decisive flew

To reclaim her heart, tested and true , flew
Psyche up to Heaven, goddess debuted.
