I wonder, sometimes,
What the future will bring,
Platitudes cry, before Time
Shows an affinity-seen.
What the future will bring
Is readily seen, purchased
Shows of affinity-seens,
Flailed by god-worship.
Is readily seen, purchased
With a worded purpose,
Flailed by god-worship,
Being a mass surplussed.
With a worded purpose
Of destroyable Us,
Being a mass surplussed,
There’s nothing left to trust.
Of destroyable us,
Over six billion plus...
I wonder, sometimes,
What the future will bring.

The future--foretold in the Bible, in Matthew 24. The love of man will wax cold; there will be wars and rumors of wars; there will be earthquakes (and I'm presuming, other horrible natural and man-made disasters) in diverse places; but the end is not yet. There will be many who claim to be God. We wonder, how can it get any worse? All we can do is pray, and watch: for we know not the day nor the hour our Lord will come.
I know this much, Erin: mankind has not learned from the past; history is repeating itself. Over and over again...and you're right: destroyable us is us. God help us!
Intriguing wordplay and thought provoking poetry; well done, my (((friend))).
(((HUGS))), love and stay safe, Karla.
