If She Weren’t Here

If She wasn't her,
There would be no honeysuckle,
No jasmine, no lavender or mint,
Or coreopsis, just blooming
Their yellow suns.
If she wasn’t here,
There would be less ineptitude,
Less lights turned on at night,
Or during the day, proving,
Electricity has won.
If she weren’t her,
There would be no more pain
Of dual existence, there would be
Less loved cats underfoot,
Arguing over food.
If She weren’t here,
I guess the earth would be barer,
‘things’ wouldn’t live, there would be
Less value, to disenchanted love,
In the world.
