Cat Comedies: Fluffy and the Vacuum Cleaner

I went to the neighbors, a few years past,
To borrow my vacuum cleaner back, talked abit,
Carried it across the double-garaged driveway,
And set it down, at my open back door. I started
Dragging the vacuum through the kitchen, and witnessed
What no cat wants you to see. Complete disharmony!
Fluffy, our near twenty pound, tricolor Maine Coon cat
Openly had a heart attack! I saw his eyes go galaxy-wide
As his furry girth leapt straight up in the air, two feet
From the floor, running, even before his paws
Came down! And, when they did, they didn’t go
Anywhere, at first, he couldn’t get a grip on the
Linoleum-tile kitchen floor. I thought I was going to
Have a conniption fit, myself, I was laughing so hard!
I kept coming and he finally got his paws moving,
Scrabbling around the corner towards the living room,
Sliding into the computer desk garbage can with a
Metallic ‘thump’, and, that’s the last I saw of him,
For quite a long time! I couldn’t stop chuckling,
Through the rest of the day, replaying the scene
Over and over again in my mind, with glee. Stupid cat!
