A doctor, a barber, a pilot, a tenor?
A villain, an innocent, a pupil’s tool?
A sycophanted ever-after?

No. Not me…

A banker, a sailor, a miner, a paver?
A scalawag, the virtuous, a teacher’s rule?
A symphony never-uttered?

No. Not me…

A proctor, a trader, a father, a tailor?
A bastard, a disciple, a professor’s fool?
A synchronicity over-tattered?

No. Not me…

I am a poet.

A dreamer, a fervor, a rhymes-plot, a lover,
A rogue of words trumpeting
Humanity’s here-afters.

Yes. I am.
