Stopped reading books
Became too involved
Stopped listening to music
Whether I danced or sang
I felt it all
Stopped letting humans
Hurt me, in my heart
(Restarted reading books,
Mysteries and thrillers,
Listen to music
On the Tahoe radio.
I don’t feel it,
Anymore, Humanity
Hurt me, in my heart.)
Stopped reading poetry
Became too involved
Stopped listening to colors
Whether imagined or real
Felt it all
Stopped letting Nature
Thrill me, in my heart
(Couldn’t restart reading poetry,
Too involved, never did.
Listen to voices
Historied in dread.
I can’t stand it,
Anymore! Divinity
Kills me, in my heart.)
Stopped seeing one-eyed
Became too involved
Stopped listening to voices
Too many to help
Felt it all
Stopped letting Others
Rule me, within myself
(Can’t stop seeing words
Becoming too involved,
Listening to muses
Stopped by individuals,
Whether misguided or not.
Felt it all,
Like a wall, built to stop my heart. …

Never build to stop...this is what we do, write, sing, play, LIVE. To stop is to die...powerfully poignant lines. Are you okay??
((((HUGS)))) and love, Karla.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Artful and masterful... "Built-To-Stop"... is a glowing sample of creativity in poetic excellence.
In admiration,
