Faster than the ‘flick-of-eye’,
Time goes by,
Except, when it doesn’t.
You know,
We’re human-life, genoming.
Why don’t we apply
Sense to past emotions,
Fears, wars, suspicions
And carnal knowledge,
To dare to be free?
Slower than the ‘life-at-hand’,
Time goes by,
Especially, when it does.
We know
We are human human-genomes,
Possibly recovered.
Why can’t we apply
Science to past, emotionally?
I fear my own suspicions,
And carnal knowledge,
Isn’t free.

Whenever she posts a poem with unfamiliar subjects, Poet Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen ~ always guides the reader in a full tour in the realms of the theme. She does that without a need for an introduction or bottom note, because she develops the theme ~ giving verse and reverse of every word that strikes curiosity; ~ as she does in every stanza matching imagery and meaning.
I have enjoyed the reading of this magnificent poem, "Quickland". This poem has paid its poetic dues to the treasure of Poetry.
I salute You, Poet.
In respect and admiration,
