Used To Be

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Thursday, April 10, 2008

She used to be
A good listener,
Until she broke down
Into towers of love.
She used to ‘hear’
The world turning,
And wrote so
To relatives meaning.
Her ‘listeners… ‘

(Maybe she’s been
Listened
To death.)

She used to be
A contender of words
Until she broke up
Into flowers of love.
She used to mirror
The world, fleeing, and wrote so,
With ‘relative meaning’,
As a wister!

(Maybe, she’s been
Listed as
A death.)

She used to be
Younger in spirit,
Until she broke apart,
Into fire-works of life,
The world, seething, writing so,
Relatively speaking,
Shuts her out.

When the outward world becomes too ugly to gaze upon, it is inward we turn to search relief within our souls....

Be always safe,

Autobiographical, perhaps? Poignancy and yet, hope in these lines, Erin, powerfully penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Wow! Change, blossoming, becoming different. Something in this reminds me of the evolving caring young girl who became Joan de Arc. Great thought-food, Erin!
