Sky Blue Eggs

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Thursday, August 14, 2008

Groups of robin eggs
Always delighted
The observer
With young pine climbing.

What better to see
Than eggs?

What better to see
Then sky blue?

Do all moments
Have to be? How?

Every past
Sky blue egg
She climbed to see
Killed me,
An eggshell at a time.

I too, was a climber of pine, an observer of robin eggs. If they were killing me I didn't know it, but maybe you've figured out what's caused these aches and pains. Interesting. Brought back memories.
