Sliver of Liver

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

If I were given
A used mattress, anywhere
My life’s journey took me,
And I needed to sleep,
I’d be happy!

With the mattress, I mean.

If I were given
A drink of water wherever
My life took me,
And I needed to drink,
I'd be exultant!

With the fount, I mean.

If I were given
A sliver of liver, anytime
My life ickied itself
To feed itself, I
Might just try it…

Liver, I mean.

Erin,

Grateful for what you have, you write honestly from the heart. I'm one who loves liver, but someone ELSE has to cook it. LOL Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
