“Pathetic”

“Pathetic”

“Pathetic”
I think you are,
“Pathetic, as usual!”.
“To cry over a gasping
Deadening squirrel!”
Just discovered on your back
Patio! Deposited for your neighbors’
Female cat’s older kittens, to learn with.
But, I saw it first.
Watched it die, again; it’s
Eye-light left in a sliver
Of dawn’s sun-fresh light,

it's all I can take.

I had my oldest daughter
Convey the being’s dead-weight
To the garbage can, we’d again.
I thought crying over life
Would get easier, it doesn’t.
I’ve never turned kittens away,
Even attached to a devil-mom,
A normal female cat, learned by.
But, I’m tired of years
Of the same neglect, getting
Their female cat spayed,
In dawn’s light,

Is all it would take.

Pathetic I am,
In tunnel vision.
“pathetic’, as usual,
I still cry over the ‘memory’
Of road-dead mammals, amphibians,
Butterflies and more, bodies; I can’t take
The weight, but, cats can. Dogs, too, I guess.
I do turn puppies away,
Go figure, loving the Dog-Star.
But, I can’t even admit
What’s gone before,
Within dawn’s light.

Yet, it’s all it would take...

You are just overly compassionate-something others need to be.

Circumstances being what they are, your compassionate heart is in a good place. God bless...

I see nothing pathetic about you, or these lines: they show a compassion few have. Powerfully penned, emotive poetry, Rrin, very well penned. If more had your compassion, the world would be a much better place. Mine is made better, for having read your words. Not all is blinded by hatred: she's seen (read) --- and hopes.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
