Even Elephants Slip in the Mud or:
‘Where’s That Damn Donkey!’
Actually, the title is the poem! Just
A thought, aged a day, short-not-sweet, inspired
By ‘America’s Funniest Videos’. Ya gotta laugh,
Sometimes, no matter how painful. It was a clip
With a wild bull elephant charging its observers!
And, it slipped! In some recent rain’s mud!
It went down with a ‘THUNK’, not auditory,
But felt, and it scrambled to get up, and succeeded!
I could see it was able to grasp a bit of solidness with
A toenail! I wonder about stuff like that. Anyway,
The ‘Donkey’ part came from now-politics-aplenty.
Leading me to think, if a bull elephant fell on the plains,
Who could get it up? Who would? And, why?
