There is a maiden laden
with a mind so kind and braver
than this craven’s fright of nights
whose eyes cry pain’s delight of blight.
And this maiden, never fading, pours
her worlded words of wisdom’s lading
into souls who crave enslavement
to her ways of praising thoughts combined
poetically. Now, this maiden, with no complaining,
reads our writes and feeds our sights as she
struggles through her life, shearing hairs
to share her spares, and she cares
if someone’s missed, feeling guilty. And her
dust bunnies keep on clinging and the
computer’s always beeping so she’s
leaping to her typing even as she’s wiping
bunnies tears and sharing all their fears of Life.
With her sensitive proclivity this over-laden-maiden
tries to hide her pain inside with her glad outlook
on life, while giving friends her Time aligned
into fermented wine of rhyme—and still we pine...
As an ending I am sending all my love
to she who’s homed above, soon snug as bugs
with funny bunnies gathered raptured at her feet.
On all levels of true worth she outshines
my foolish dearths and I want her now to know
that she has a special glow that hovers free
and covers me in comfort’s bed inside my head
where she has read and fed my soul,
helped make me whole, she needs to know,
before I’m dead, I love
a maiden laden.

Fabulous tribute, Erin, to a wonderful, caring, loving soul - AD's own Katydid, who definitely is one of the 'good people.' I truly have to love anyone who affectionately names a dustball - Howard!
And I have to also say that I found the format of this tribute to be marvelously well composed.

Hush, Katy, you need to get back to packing, love, and I'm sure I hear some dust bunnies crying, wipe their tears and pack thier fears up, they would shrivel to nothing if you left them behind. :)
Thank YOU, Katydid.

OH, my.. what do I say now? How does one type with any sense when the eyes are dripping so? when the fingers shake and the heart cracks a mile wide to understand being cared for this much? My dear Erin.. you honor me. Is that really me up there? I'm wordless for what's in my heart this moment.. breathless, to think that precious time was put aside to give to me. I will not ever overcome this utterly collapsed and grateful feeling right now... nor would I wish to. Is thank you still packed with enough sincerity? that simple phrase is what I have for you.. but you can muliply it by the same number we use to understand infinity! I say again.. you honor me. love, katy xox.
