When I laid myself asleep,
(Now I lie myself to sleep.)
I shouted ‘No!’ then kept my peace.
(I knew it all, negating peace.)
When I will die unawakened,
(Nonce beyond! I am forsaken!)
I see my soul, worded, taken.
(I feel relief, soon life is shaken…)
*I’ve reached the age of hollowed keep.
I bray to Man to stop the sleep.
If I should die before my time,
I say I love a worded rhyme.*
